I had suddenly stepped into the world of Social Media Optimization when I began to consider the following:

• There are hundreds of social networks
• It is unrealistic to update them all quickly
• It stops being fun when it becomes tedious
• I wish I could just update them all at once from one place with one click
• I realize there are different audiences in each social network, therefore I might isolate people if I don’t join one

The Solution

Fortunately, I’ve developed an easy to use solution that is built into all the WordPress sites built by 2Active Design. Social Media Optimization allows automatic updates from your blog to be sent to all your social networks. You only need to add your friends and they can immediately start to enjoy your constant updates from your blog full of rich content and pictures. All this is valuable attention and publicity which will drive many of them to see your site.

Social media optimization (SMO) is a set of methods for generating publicity through social media, online communities and community websites. Methods of SMO include adding RSS feeds, social news buttons, blogging, and incorporating third-party community functionalities like images and videos. Social media optimization is related to search engine marketing, but differs in several ways, primarily the focus on driving traffic from sources other than search engines, though improved search ranking is also a benefit of successful SMO.

Here at 2activedesign.com, we don’t spend hours and hours on social networks, working to promote the blog or the business. If I have an idea for this blog, I simply have a small logical thought that I know will benefit people and business owners in Honduras, I just start writing and publish it. Within the hour of typing that first letter, the blog post has been recognized by Google and other search engines. In addition, it is posted to all my profiles on many social networks. I can’t even remember how many I have. I update them all quickly in a matter of seconds. I only log onto them individually if I absolutely have to, or if I want to contact someone else on that network. But if I want to publish a message, I can broadcast just by clicking on that “Publish” button in the WordPress back-end. It’s that simple.

Everyday, more and more people join a social network. The social media revolution already happened years ago. If you haven’t hopped on, you’re missing out, and so are some of your potential sales.
