This is a basic scene setup as a still life to practice and show realistic rendering techniques. Focus was placed on shadows, three point lighting, raytracing, reflections, and depth of field. Created on Maya 2009 using Maya Software rendering with raytracing and shadows enabled.

These photographs were taken from a hill looking out towards a 6pm sunset using a wide angle lens. HDR techniques were used to gather the shot and then they were retouched and recolored in Photoshop. Cropped using the rule of thirds and the golden mean.
If someone were to ask me, “What’s the lowest price you could offer me for a website?” I’d have to first make sure they are willing to sacrifice custom design. This of course, would mean using a template. A template is a ready-made design for a site which comes complete with graphics, navigation, layout, typography and a color palette. Sounds great huh? Well the catch is that the same template you are using is being used by thousands of other people for their site. Would it feel right to call this “Your website?”

As an artist, I can easily condemn mass produced, assembly line design because it is no longer unique and will cease to be special since there are so many others like it. However, if price outweighs the need for originality and uniqueness, then by all means go with a template.

These photos were taken with a Cannon T1i DSLR camera and a 60mm macro lens. Subject matter is mostly plants, flowers and insects. Hover your mouse over the image to view true color and click the thumbnail for full size (takes a while, pictures are full resolution!)
World renown yacht chair manufacturer, Crown LTD, needed a revamp of their site. They required a top notch, world class website to showcase their top quality craftsmanship. This new site would put their product front and center in a jquery slideshow.
